Introducing Baby Strange, the Scottish trio who've definitely been on the rise since we first saw them at what they described as their worst gig ever over on TheSkinny.

Ronan Park

Since Extended Play came out what have the fans been saying, what's the favourite track?

People seem to be loving it. 'Mess' has been a big talking point with people as it's a bit different to what we've done in the past.

Have you got a favourite to play live?

'Play Me'. It's probably the fastest song we have, it's very fun to play. 'Bring Me Down' is also a favourite.

You've got a very distinctive sound and you've been compared to The Clash, how would describe yourselves to those who are yet to hear you?

Loud. Energetic. Fast.

The September tour is coming up quick, with a north heavy list of venues how do you think your crowds differ from the top of Scotland to down here in London?

I know a lot of bands see a big difference when they go down south but we don't. Our gigs in London are always mad. Some of our most memorable gigs have been there.

There's a real mix of support bands for the tour, is there one band that really stands out to you that you're excited to play with?

It has to be Rascalton. They're such a good live band and have great songs. They're the perfect support for us, people are going to love them.

On the topic of support slots, you toured with Slaves earlier this summer, what was that like?

Doing shows with Slaves is always fun. We've known each other for a couple of years now, we've seen them play in King Tuts to 20 people to selling out Brixton Academy. It's a beautiful thing.

We've seen some fans getting hyped up for the Baby Strange club nights, can you tell us a bit about what goes down?

We run a night called 'Club Sababth', it happens in The Priory on Sauchiehall St. We usually have a band playing with other bands doing DJ sets as well as ourselves. We've had The Magic Gang, Blaenavon, Gang of Four, LIFE + loads more in. We're taking it to Sebright Arms in London for the first time on Sep 8th. We've got Husky Loops, Rascalton & Sweet Prince playing + DJ sets from Crows & Ellie from Wolf Alice. Sabbath is always so fun, we love doing it. We're wanting to take it to Manchester too.

And finally, give us one word to describe the future of Baby Strange,

Touring.
