Swindon band, Misfires, have started to make a name for themselves so we thought we'd find out what all the fuss is about. We discovered the makings of the band and what they've got in store for us in the future. Keep reading to find out more about this upcoming indie pop/rock band.

Where did Misfires all start? How did you meet?

Matty knew James from college and at the time Matty was bored and James was in another band. Anyways one thing after another, Matt said to James, do you wanna join our band and he was like sure. Matty and Mert were part of the previous edition of bands, however neither of them knew each other to start with. Matt messaged Mert on Facebook asking if he wanted to join the band beacuse he was bored and knew Mert was a good guitarist. Mert said sorry do I know you? But fuck it yeah sure. We then had Jake in on the Bass, who went to college with James, and this is where we are now!

How would you describe your sound to someone who's never heard you?

Loud, anthemic, the type of music that makes people wanna jump about and live a little..

What makes playing live so exciting for you?

The reaction of people, there's no greater feeling than seeing people go mental and sing the words back to you. We also love meeting people at our shows, to us that's the amazing thing about playing live.

How have you found your festival season this year?

It's been class, we went from last year not playing many to playing a few of the majors this year, that is a massive thanks to Mikey Jonns and This Feeling who're giving bands like us a platform.

Which show are you most looking forward to on your September tour?

We are most looking forward to Manchester, that place holds a special part in the history of our band as that was place we sold out our first ever show.

Who's been your favourite band to tour with? Erm we've liked all the bands that we've played.. they're all really down to earth and we made good mates with them all so we couldn't pick!!

Congrats on 100k streams on 'Do You Wanna', is this your favourite single? Yes, Do You Wanna is probably our most favourite single to date, it's done a lot for us...it's one that the fans have always liked which is great for us. We listened to what people wanted us to release and we feel that's why that single is probably one of the more special ones.

What's the song thats best received live?

Indie Kids probably, that goes off.

How do you feel the band has progressed from the early days?

The band has progressed a long way from what it was, we've played a lot of gigs, we've written better songs and we have a class fan base.

Have you got any releases coming up we should know about?

Well... I'm afraid that's a secret.

Make sure you're following Misfires on all of their social media to keep up to date with those 'secret' releases.
