Covers often tend to be a bit of a flop, but here's a list of covers and revamped songs that are just as good, if not better, than the originals starting with MGMT and ending with The Pussycat Dolls.

Turbowolf - Electric Feel

I stumbled upon this cover a couple years back and I'm still as captivated as I was then, a truly magical compliment to MGMT's original.

The Last Shadow Puppets - Les Cactus

In all honesty, Alex Turner could cover Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and I'd still be in awe, but I'm glad him and Miles brought this old tune to our attention even if we have no idea what it's about.

Sundara Karma - Never Too Much

Although not technically released, perhaps the most successful recent cover after the scenes it caused live at Heaven.

Ryan Adams - Wonderwall

In the words of Noel Gallagher, “I went to see Ryan Adams in Manchester… So he’s playing away and he just does ‘Wonderwall’ right in the middle of the set. The fucking place went silent. It was so beautiful. I was just like, ‘Fucking Jesus Christ what a fucking song!’ Afterwards, I told him, ‘You can have that song, man, because we could never quite get it right.’

Amy Whinehouse ft. Quincy Jones - It's My Party

Amy went quiet for a while in the studio after releasing the iconic album Back To Black and this little bop was the next thing to come.

The Flaming Lips - Can't Get You Out Of My Head

All respect to Kylie, there will always be a time and a place for her, but this cover of her 2001 hit brought the song to the forefront for many other music lovers.

Aretha Franklin - Respect

Snatched! Who would've known Aretha Franklin's seminal song wasn't even hers! Originally released by Otis Redding two years prior in 1965.

Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun

Another whopping bop that made the original completely irrelevant. All hail Cyndi!!

Soft Cell - Tainted Love

Aint nothing tainted in this cover, a top favourite.

The Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha

The sound of the noughties. It wasn't a birthday party if this didn't come on.
