Truck Festival’s 20th anniversary event is fast approaching and it looks set to go off with a bang. From the first time I attended in 2014 there has been huge popularity surrounding the small festival it’s safe to say the organisers have lived up to expectations this year.

With the band app winners just announced and the line up almost complete the anticipation is stronger than ever. Truck comes alive on the few days it’s featured and it’s as if you’re taken to another world. It’s all about masses of people all sharing the same love for the same music and, most importantly, supporting upcoming bands. Having been named ‘the Godfather of the small festival scene’ it just goes to show why it’s become as popular as it has.
This year, being the 20th anniversary, it’s set to be bigger than ever. With the likes of The Libertines headlining, you couldn’t ask for much more. Over the course of five stages you’ll see the likes on indie, rock, metal, and dance and so much more, it’s a wonder how they can fit this all into such a small festival. With the addition of the cinema last year, they’ve stepped it up another notch this year, there’s a long list of films so there’s sure to be something for everyone.
You might think that Truck is just like any other festival and ask what’s all the hype about? But there’s something about Truck that brings a huge smile to my face whenever I think about it. The variety of acts, the community feel and the amazing organisation are what makes it work. If you’ve managed to bag yourself then prepare yourself for the funfair rides, the tasty food and the incredible atmosphere.
