Bands I Long To See

I’d say I’ve been pretty lucky with the bands I’ve managed to catch in the flesh over the past 3 years, but there’s still more I’m longing to see. Here’s a small snippet of my wish list:
Hockey Dad:
Australian surf rock duo, Hockey Dad, create boisterous summer tunes, perfectly encapsulating the power of youth. Childhood sweethearts Zach Stephenson and Billy Fleming produce a combination of 60’s garage and surf tracks which are addictive on the first listen. It’s heartbreaking that it’s near impossible to catch this band on the live circuit due to, you know, being on the other side of the world. Their sets have been described as ‘loud and impressive as hell’, something I want to set my eyes on. Beach Fossils:
Shoegaze, dream pop, lo-fi; the beauty that describes the enchanting Beach Fossils. The band claim influence from improvisational jazz, classical music, and Stereolab, and combined with lead singer Dustin Payseur’s distinct vocals, the perfect indie creation is born. Their live shows may not be expected to be something to long for, but they produce something different to any other indie pop gig. A real favourite that I hope to witness in the near future. MGMT:
Any year 8’s dream, the psychedelic band is one welcomes you into the world of indie. MGMT are a band that often gets overlooked after not appearing of any significance of the past few years. This one of my list is more of a need to see than a want, the electricity surrounding the venue when classics come on is something I can only imagine. I'm sure everyone knows of this band but have a listen here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0SwO7SWeDHJijQ3XNS7xEE

Theme Park:
Yet another summer fuelled band, it seems I’ve been waiting a lifetime to see indie favourites Theme Park live. Their tracks combine scratchy guitar riffs and funky basslines which will get you bobbing for the rest of the day I’m sure. Favourites of theirs include Tonight and Jamaica.
